I tried my luck and skills by participating in an international online competition. The theme was roses, and the competition consisted of 3 rounds: painting rose buds, fully bloomed roses, and wilting roses. There were eliminations in each round, so participants who passed could proceed to the next round. I’m grateful to have made it to the final round and secured second place.For my subject selection, I bought a rose that was almost wilting. After considering all the options, I chose a slightly large, light pink rose. Then, I let the flower sit for a few days until its petals dried, until I deemed it aesthetically suitable for painting.
