The small shrub plant, belonging to the Ericaceae family, grows terrestrially in the extreme conditions of Mimika Regency and is classified within the sub-alpine zone. It is commonly found in the Tembagapura District, particularly in the Grassberg Mine area owned by PT Freeport Indonesia. Most of the Ericaceae family’s fruits are edible, and some of them have been commercialized.

Born in Purwokerto on January 21, 1968, he embarked on his journey in painting and creating botanical illustrations in 2004. Being self-taught, he learned by closely observing nature and the habitats where plants thrive. His preferred media include watercolour, pencils, graphite, and oil paint. Joining IDSBA in 2018 has further enriched his artistic journey, and he has been actively participating in exhibitions ever since.
