A single plant object of a red pitcher plant serves as a study of form and watercolour material. Watercolour is a relatively challenging material to apply. With this medium, one must control the water and paint intensity to adjust the colour value to achieve the desired quality. In this study, the eyes are trained to observe accurately, while the hands are trained to realize shapes, light, and shadows [1]. The most influential aspect of drawing study is frequent practice to train the motor skills and coordination between the eyes, hands, and sense. Eventually, individuals discover the best approach for them. Supported by theories on material usage and form creation, although ultimately each individual finds the best method in their practice. This plant was chosen because it exhibits sufficient characteristics for study, from its shape, colour, detail, to the visual volume. It is presented as a single object to focus on visual study maximally. Besides form study, material study is also conducted to understand the characteristics of this watercolour medium.
