Pitcher Plant from Mount Talang
IDR 6.000.000
I drew this plant in September 2021 using references from Stewart McPherson’s book (Nepenthes – The Tropical Pitcher Plants Volume 3) for IDSBA Calendar 2022 submission. At that time the species name had not been accepted in POWO (Plants of the World Online by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew). However, I still chose it as my subject, feeling a huge interest in its name and shape. Recently, I found out it was accepted in 2023. I am thrilled that species I painted is now recognized with its distinctive name originating from Mount Talang. This is especially significant as it is listed on the IUCN Red List as a threatened species*. With its recognition, I hope it will have a greater impact on conservation, drawing more attention to its importance in the ecosystem of Mount Talang.
