The rainbow eucalyptus reminds me how every scar, teaching us to grow, can make us more beautiful. Just as the bright, fresh green colour of a newly shed bark on this eucalyptus changes to bright orange, then red, before settling into a deep brown, the process of shedding bark reveals its beautiful transformation in rainbow colours.
Hervina Dyah Aprilia
Born in Pontianak on April 24, 1984, Hervina, usually called Vina, has always been fascinated by plants, especially trees. However, despite her fascination, she’s found herself struggling to keep even a cactus alive. Drawing trees has become her escape. With a background in Design and Digital Visual Effects, she spends most of her time in front of a computer screen or inside a studio. To maintain her sanity and overcome creative blocks, she often experiments with biomimicry. Despite her quirky passion for the art of botanical illustration, she finds solace in drawing and painting. In the midst of the digital era of communication, she finds peace in observing and capturing the colours and structures of plants, allowing them to inspire and deepen her understanding of biomimicry.
