Reflective Reverie
IDR 5.600.000
“Reflective Reverie” captures my introspective journey in botanical art. Inspired by my earliest painting of a modest garlic bulb in 2012, my new artwork in 2024 with the same subject embodies a reflective contemplation of growth over the years.
In 2012, hastily painting a specimen grabbed from the fridge marked the beginning of my botanical art journey. Now, with deliberate intention, I sought out a garlic bulb from a local farmer, capturing its delicate essence with soft lighting and dreamy hues. Each brushstroke reflects upon the passage of time, subtly blending gradients of colour and textures to evoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder.
Through meticulous watercolour techniques, I aimed to create convincing 3D illusions and translucent layers, symbolising the depth of my artistic progression. “Reflective Reverie” encapsulates not only my technical development but also the emotional connection fostered with nature and fellow botanical art enthusiasts. It serves as a reminder of the transformative power of art, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journey while appreciating the beauty of botanicals.
