The first time I saw this plant with its adorable and uniquely colored flowers was at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Although I really wanted to paint it, I was hindered by the requirement that it had to be a species native to Indonesia for the exhibition organized by IDSBA. I hadn’t had the chance to study some native species for this orchid yet, so I created this painting for another IDSBA challenge. This first online exhibition provided an opportunity for this adorable plant to be showcased. It was truly enjoyable to paint this, and I hope to soon find a native Indonesian species to paint.
