Tree branches are often used as resting places for birds, including a pair of Cinnyris jugularis or olive-backed sunbirds perched on the Bauhinia x blakeana Dunn tree, also known as the Hong Kong orchid tree.

The bright pink-purple flowers, measuring 10 to 15 centimeters, seem to complement the bright yellow colour of the bird (the male has metallic black-purple chin and chest), with a size almost similar to that of the flowers. B. blakeana does not bear fruit and is a hybrid between B. purpurea and B. variegata.

The relationship between plants and other creatures like birds reflects the harmony of beings complementing each other in nature.
