We often consume vanilla flavor without necessarily knowing its true form and origin. The encounter with the vanilla plant took place at the Bogor Botanic Gardens, observing its growth patterns and characteristics, then composing them into a painting that has a relationship between the beauty of the flowers and the fragrant taste of vanilla.

Rio enjoys exploring nature and encountering plants around him, exploring his surroundings and painting activities are a complete combination in his life.
His passion for botanical art began when he joined the Indonesian Society of Botanical Artists in 2018. Botanical art for him is an expression of his passion for nature and plants.
Focusing on watercolour as his medium, which he finds easy to express, painting plants becomes an intriguing artwork. He was once featured as a botanical artist in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery at Kew Gardens in London in 2023.
In the future, Rio continues to learn about painting plants and strives to communicate the diversity of species in his artwork.
