Dendrobium spectabile (Blume) Miq. is a native orchid from Papua, Australia, and the Solomon Islands. The combination of shapes and colour patterns on its flowers creates unique and captivating details, making this orchid species look very different from the types of orchids that are usually used as decorations indoors. This uniqueness seems to give the impression that these orchid flowers have a strong character/personality. So it’s no wonder that this orchid is known as the alien orchid.
In short, the uniqueness of this orchid reminds me of the MBTI theory, where there are MBTI types with the most and least population among humans. As someone with an MBTI type that has a relatively small population, it often makes it difficult for most people to get to know or understand our personality. It is not uncommon for these “minority” MBTI types to be labeled as strange. Although we all understand that we all have strengths and weaknesses. If life’s journey is likened to a flower, everyone can “bloom” in their own way.
